International iGaming software provider Altenar is set to enter the North American market. This comes after recently obtaining a license to operate in Ontario. Canada’s most populous province, Ontario, opened its doors to the online iGaming market in April this year.

Growing International Success

The Ontario license marks the 15th international market entry for Altenar. Other successful ventures include UK and Malta. The license was granted to Altenar by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The company is well known for its sportsbook-related iGaming software and services. Their offerings will include a wide range of prospects for sports and eSports, both in Canada and the US. The supplier’s latest ambitious move comes after a 150 percent increase in bets and active players during 2021.

Optimism for the Future

The director of operations for Altenar is Antonis Karakousis. Karakousis has expressed great optimism for the company’s future in Canada and North America. He says Altenar intends to bring the best quality services and products to the Canadian online casino market. He and the company look forward to delivering a rewarding experience to their North American customer base.

Through extensive market research and planning, he believes Altenar is confident that it can deliver and cater for Ontario’s thriving new iGaming market. He states their ongoing international success as proof of their ability to meet demands while providing quality products and services.

A Fertile Market

Recent reports have shown the Ontario iGaming market to have already generated around CA$162m since April (approximately £106.1m, or €123.9m). Total stakes have come to around $4.07bn.

Growth is high, with 18 operators and over 31 websites currently live. These include the US iGaming giant DraftKings, local operators like North Star, and global operators like Entain. The active player base is reported to be at 492,000, with an average of $113 spent by each player per month.
